One with Jesus’ Healing Ministry

The WORD in other words (2022) by Sister Elena Rosa Salonga SSpS – Quezon City

Tuesday 23rd Week in Ordinary Time

In the Gospel today, we read that Jesus went to a quiet place to pray and commune with his Father before choosing his apostles. He did the same thing before and after his hectic ministries of preaching, teaching, and healing.

As faithful believers and followers of Jesus, do we take time to draw strength, guidance, and direction in all our decisions and actions by first communing with our loving God, the source of our life and strength?

Looking back at our experience of the COVID-19 pandemic, what lessons and realizations have been learned about life? Personally, what was your most touching, memorable, and meaningful experience? What are you most grateful for?

Like the apostles of Jesus, how have you been part of Jesus’ healing ministry and compassion to our suffering brothers and sisters in the most trying situations: illnesses, isolation, joblessness, natural calamities, helplessness, etc.?

May our God of love and mercy continue to inspire and empower us to witness to his life-giving presence and compassion to all our brothers and sisters, no matter their creed, color, and culture. May God be glorified in everything we think, do and say. God bless us all!
