UGANDA
Divine Word Missionaries’ presence in Uganda is assured by the SVD province of Kenya-Tanzania.
Today is the 10th Sunday Ordinary Season, we went to the settlement of Yoyo for our missions. Father Romy and sister Debora went to the saint Lawrence Church for the mass and other sacraments. These christians are building new church. We hope that all christians belong to this church will be able to attend the mass in the new church in the next month.
Father Wojciech and sister Mariacel went to the saint Philip Church. This church is the farthest among all churches in the Yoyo settlement. Father Andrew went to saint Joseph church. This church is very beautiful and is built on the hill.
Before the mass, we asked all christians prayed rosary and practiced some songs for this mass. When they were praying, we celebrated the confession of sacrament. In the mass, they zealously attended the mass. They sang and danced so that they gave thanks to the Lord our God. Although the weather was raining, many Christians came to church to pray and attend the mass.
After the mass, some SVD Lay Partners and we visited and brought the holy communions to some people who are sick. We were walking and singing and bringing the joyfulness and grace of God to the sick. After finishing our missions, we went back home in the love and mercy of God. We also had the supper together. Finally Father Wojciech prayed and blessed us.
