Happy Birthday, SVD!
There are people who never quite reach the center stage simply because they were the ones who opened, and held the door open for others to come in.
Today let us remember the people who open and who keep the door open for us. Personally, I thank Mama Mary for her open heart that always welcomes me, no matter what. I want to thank the Society of the Divine Word for opening so many doors for me as a religious priest and missionary.
Let us all be a part of this “door ministry” that continues to welcome and take in people to God’s heart.
In whatever capacity, whether a doorbell, or a doorknob, or a lowly door mat, let us become doors, not walls.
