God is always at work!
Usually, we see our life as a gift and a blessing. We like to live our lives to the fullest. That is why we want to feel, enjoy, savor and experience our life. We are not only concerned with the beautiful and enchanting but also with the dark, painful and disappointing sides of our lives.
In other words, we want to live attentively, deeply, and fully. We want to live in such a way that we find meaning in everything that life gives and demands from us, which connects us to the origin and goal of our existence.
Life is not always that easy. Therefore, we are glad that Jesus is pointing out to us that God is always at work to make us succeed in our lives. Jesus speaks in this manner because this is how he witnessed and experienced the reality in his surroundings. He lives with God, his Father, in such a lively exchange and deep communion that he constantly measures his life according to God’s work.
God’s work is therefore reflected in the life of Jesus; it renews and has an impact on human history. Jesus too is at work and still working; he does what his father lets him see and hear. Just as the Father gives the fullness of life to all, even after death, so Jesus also creates the conditions for life to grow into its fullness. That is why “Whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life; he does not come to judgment, but has passed over from death into life.”
It is therefore essential for us in our search for a fulfilled, deep, and successful life to open ourselves to this message. We will, therefore, first and foremost give space to God’s work, as Jesus did. We will allow ourselves to be guided by him to a lively exchange, to a deep communion with the Father, and thus let our life be led into his fullness.
