The WORD in other words by Fr Jerry Orbos SVD — Christ the King Seminary, Quezon City
December 31 / Octave of Christmas
I started my journey with the Word when I entered Christ the King Seminary as a 12-year-old boy in 1966. It has been quite a journey with the Divine Word since then, and still journeying on with him till the end.
Only recently did I discover that St. Joseph is the Patron of Departing Souls. It is he who accompanies us in our final journey to God’s heart. Now I know why the statue of St. Joseph was built beside our cemetery in Christ the King Seminary.
As the year ends, and as the New Year begins, let us entrust ourselves to St. Joseph that he, who accompanies us as our Protector and Intercessor in our journey through life, will accompany us in our final journey to eternal life.
In the beginning was the Word.
In our journey is the Divine Word.
In the end will be the Risen Divine Word. The Word. For life. Forever. For always!
