This guidebook envisions the Hallmarks of SVD Education from three different perspectives, namely, those that the SVD schools share with outstanding schools of learning, those that are shared with Catholic schools, and those that maybe considered “specific” to the SVD schools.
A comprehensive and research-based study guide with key questions and reference materials accompany each hallmark.
The book highlights the educational goals of SVD schools in the Philippines and Asia-Pacific context. It also includes a sample curriculum for MA Ed programs with Catholic Education as a Core Course, and continuing the SVD tradition of excellence, a list of government (PRC) licensure examinations topnotchers from SVD-served schools.
The author, Fr Jake Ferrer SVD is a long-time missionary working in Japan. He holds a Doctorate in Applied Ethics from Loyola University in Chicago Illinois, USA, specialising in Globalisation and Corporate Social Responsibility. He currently works with the office of the Provincial of the SVD Philippine Central Province.
