More often than not, we consider ourselves better than most people, and in the process, we become judgmental.

When Winston Churchill was a young boy, he was such a bad  student that his father feared he would never find a decent job in order to support himself as an adult.

Thomas Edison was so slow in school that his father was convinced he was just dull and dumb.   Never in his father’s wildest dreams that Thomas would one day be one of the world’s greatest inventors.

Judging people is a great no-no for our Lord.  “Do not judge that you may not be judged,” (Luke 6,37) he said.  It is very destructive to the one being judged.

When we are tempted to judge, let us remind ourselves with this beautiful American Indian prayer: “O great Spirit, help me never to judge another person until I have walked for two moons in his moccasins.”
