How it started

Sometime in the year 2000, SVD members and lay people met under the Secretariat for Social Communications, Philippine Central Province, headed by Fr. Isabelo San Luis, SVD.

The group decided to put up a foundation named Mission Communications Foundation Inc. (MCFI) in order to implement the objectives of SVD media apostolate in the Phillippine Central Province.

With permission from the SVD Central Province, the group submitted the Articles of Incorporation and By-Laws of MCFI to the Securities and Excahnge Commission (SEC).

On December 12, 2000, MCFI was granted approval.

MCFI launched its first TV project in 2001 with airing of “Seven Last Words” on Good Friday and every year thereafter.

The “Seven Last Words”

7 Last Word 2019

The three hour program aims at giving an opportunity to the church goers and televiewers to reflect on the Passion and Death of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Happily, the program has earned tremendous positive feed backs from televiewers, particularly from various lay charismatic communities and religious sectors.

Through the years, MCFI developed the program format including lay personalities to share their life testimonies relating to the “Word” of Christ preached by the priests before their sharing.

Viewers listened in rapt attention to the talks and testimonies which were highly inspiring, interesting, and even entertaining. Somehow, the audience could identify themselves with the personal trials and experience of the speakers.

Moreover, the format includes prayer reflections led by seven families to signify the importance of the family in society. To inspire the audience in their reflections, song presentations are rendered by choice celebrity singers and choirs.

The creative format has been a refreshing change from the traditional mode wherein the speakers, which consisted of selected priests only, would read from their prepared scripts.

Family TV Mass

The Family TV Mass (FTVM) is one of the religious programs produced by the Mission Communications Foundation Inc. under the SVD Secretariat for Social Communications – Philippine Central Province. Its primary objective is to bring the Holy Eucharist closer to the Filipino family, which is considered to be the basic unit of the Church and the society. Likewise, it also gives a chance to the sick and elderly who are unable to attend Sunday Mass to listen and reflect in the Word of God through television. Anchored in its principle of “bringing the Good News to Filipino families”, the FTVM ministry is a living witness of the apostolic role of Evangelization.

Aired every Sunday, 6:00 to 7:00am @ 5plus
